Green DIZ
“Green Darda Industrial Zone- GreenDIZ“ (key information)
About the GreenDIZ developer: First green industrial zone (ever) concept, which spreads over 30 Ha
area- is developed and owned by Solaris Pons Group (SPG). SPG consists of several companies where the
main company is Solaris Pons LLC, established in 2013 and mostly active in solar energy market through
a wide range of services which are offered to the clients in public and private sector. In addition to
standard development of solar power projects- company is pushing the boundaries in terms of piloting
innovative approaches in project implementation, such as in a project implemented in 2019 through on-
site power purchase agreement (PPA) scheme, first of that kind in Croatia. In the early years, company
was very active in national feed-in tariff auctions and after developing around 40% of Croatian solar
power capacity- decided to enter the electrical energy supply market, a logical move given the huge
client base all over the country.
About the GreenDIZ: Green Darda Industrial Zone is a concept of energy self-sustainable industrial zone
where SPG runs the energy distribution and supply business, concentrating exclusively on solar power
(integrated, non-integrated and floating type) and hydrogen (produced from solar power surplus and
waste and rainwater collected in artificial lake) which will be used as a mechanism for seasonal energy
storage and for the purpose of providing ancillary services (balancing energy) to the transmission system
operator. Export of large quantities of hydrogen is also in the books. Instead of billing the energy and
space (rent)- SPG shall be a part of the companies which will operate in the area in the businesses of
battery manufacturing (Giga Croatia), 3D printing, crypto mining etc. GreenDIZ will partner with the
Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Information Technology in Osijek in order to organize
field visits of students, professors and research staff as well as student internships. Goal of the GreenDIZ
is to revitalize the economy by opening the opportunity for few hundred of new job positions and to
launch the “5.0 Industry Revolution” powered by locally produced green energy.
